Growing up, my first contact with superheroes was when I was watching TV, the
Super Friends!, ‘AT THE HALL OF JUSTICE!’ It left such
a stain in my head about how super beings were,
corny yay sayers, I mean those guys agreed on
everything no one had their own opinion, it was
always your right, I agree, thats what we
should do, even Batman, I always waited for one
of them to say I don’t think thats a good idea,
I have my own spin on what we should do, and then
an argument would ensue, and hopefully a fight,
but of course that never happens. after all
they were “Super Friends”, right? Then some
Saturdays later, I was waiting for my waiting
for my Super Friends to grace the screen when
this strange show came on. I remember
thinking wheres my super friends, how dare
they change my show for this....this red guy with
webs all over his body, he looks... cool?! I forget
after that but, time goes by, I realized I had
forgotten about the yes friends...sorry
Super Friends I mean these people had feelings and
emotions, they were “for lack of a better word”, human.
Not saying that the fighting and violence is why I like heroes,
yes...yes it was, but also it was that they had real problems to fix,
even with all their powers, they had normal everyday problems, and I
like to solve problems... of others, anyway, We (my sisters and I) watched
Spider-man and his Amazing friends until X men took over. I remember my
younger sister and I would go into my room and I would have this big box of
paper men superheroes that I made, I even made my own characters
to play with, and we would make them marry each other, go to the
store in their regulars, and have to stop the bad guy who was trying
to rob the place. Not go jump in a phone booth and come out a super hero. There was
no time, someones life is in danger. It is what attracted me to Marvel, and later on
DC, so I said some day I want to have my own comic, and entertain kids of all ages,
sadly in the world of adults I had forgotten that, not to mention, got married myself,
became ill, had kids whom I love very much, and who made me remember I have a job
to do, and thats to make SUPER HEROES!, YES!, So that I can teach for God and
country, the values we’ve lost over the years, because the children are our future...
Wow that sounds so cliche, but its so true, the people where I live say my kids are a God
send. I mean its kind of funny, when ever I saw my kids go out to play the parents would
send all of their little ones out and my kids would be the last ones coming in from playing,
Godsend, they have no idea how right they are. They take care and teach other kids how to
get along with each other. It inspired me to continue doing what I do best... reaching out
through my work, my art. This is our Zyoncomics, for the kids to enjoy and learn true good
values, Gods values, and also for the mainstream fans who just like a good old fashion
whoping from a powerhouse of a superhero. So enjoy, and keep
ROCK’IN THE POWER COSMIC!...oops! sorry Onyx.
